Microblogging platform Twitter has been talking about a dislike button for a long time, but now it seems that the company has started paying attention to it. According to a report by 9to5Mac, Twitter is testing a Reaction feature for its platform. With the Reaction feature, Twitter users will get the option of Dislike which will be named downvotes. This feature is currently being tested on the beta version of iOS.

As reported by 9to5mac, a reverse engineer Nima Owji says, we might be close to the release date of Reactions. This feature, which started being tested a couple of months ago, is set to launch soon, as Owji was able to find references to that in Twitter’s code.

There will be four options available with the Reaction feature, which include Tears of Joy, Thinking Face, Clapping Hands, and Crying Face. Twitter will also store downvotes (dislikes) data. The downvotes option will be available before the like button. However, the number of dislikes will not be visible in public.

Noteworthy, the downvote on Twitter will also be tied with the Sort Replies feature. Users will be able to select either to receive all replies or just the ones relevant. Simply put, this will include replies from people you follow and other replies users will likely be interested in.
