India Uzbekistan Investment Corridor In Collaboration With BW Businessworld Hosted Dialogue On ‘Revisiting the Silk Route’

India Uzbekistan Investment Corridor (IUIC) in collaboration with BW Businessworld held the BW Global Dialogue ‘Revisiting the Silk Route’ virtually on 29th January 2022 powered by Trust Legal in the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Ambassadors of both the countries, His Excellency, Shri Manish Prabhat, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Uzbekistan and His Excellency, Dilshod Akhatov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to India.
The participation of both the Ambassadors in all the programmes organized by IUIC shows the deep trust and belief in the efforts taken by IUIC.
The virtual conference was organised by the IUIC Corridor pursuant to the 1st India Central Asia Summit held on 27th January 2022 marking 75 years of India’s Independence which was deliberated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and the Hon’ble President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, highlighting the 30 years of diplomatic relations between India and Central Asia.
It is worth mentioning that the close areas of cooperation which His Excellency, Shri Manish Prabhat mentioned, includes pharmaceutical companies which can set up base in the country of Uzbekistan as 30 per cent of pharmaceutical requirement of Uzbekistan comes out of India. Talking about the educational institutions, there are already three large Indian universities from India already present in Uzbekistan. We expect more English speaking universities and institutions to open their campuses in Uzbekistan. We are also looking forward to cooperation in a lot of mining and rare earth mineral opportunities in Uzbekistan along with technology hubs, software Development, IT solutions and cooperation on green energy, climate finances, climate reversal at the earliest between both the countries. Tourism, culture, food exchanges will be the norm of the day in the coming years.
As mentioned by Dilshod Akhatov, the country of Uzbekistan invites Indian companies to explore trade opportunities in Uzbekistan in the pharmaceutical, traditional medicines, light machinery, plastic products, dyes and chemical products for the textile industry, for example, auto components, agricultural products, infrastructure, jewellery, tourism and entertainment sectors which will give Indian companies access to the Uzbek market of 2035 million people which is the largest population in Central Asia.
India Uzbekistan Investment Corridor is planning to take a trade delegation on the invitation of His Excellency, Dilshod Akhatov, to the Tashkent International Investment Forum to be held on March 24 to 26, 2022 with an exclusive gathering of 1500 plus senior foreign and local business and financial executives, leaders and international media.
The delegation will comprise CEO’s, Entrepreneurs, journalists, lawyers and will lead to massive co-creation of business and trade opportunities between the two countries. The cultural, textile and silk route which has been in existence as part of our Government heritage for almost 2000 years will be revived with regular discussions, deliberations between both the Republics through the India Uzbekistan Investment Corridor (IUIC) and the corridor promises to bring more lively debates, discussions, interactions and closer cooperation between the people of both the nations.
