ACREX India 2014: Building A Carbon Neutral World
South Asia’s largest exhibition on Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Refrigeration & Building Services: ACREX India 2014 has taken a step towards Carbon Neutral exhibition.
It is implementing the three R’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, reducing the use of paper, travel, recycling and reusing the waste. The endeavor of the organisers can be visualised by the fact that they will be planting over 10,000 trees across India to reduce the carbon emission being created by the show.
It has opened to the public on 27 February to 1 March. The show is being organised by the Indian Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and managed by NürnbergMesse India. ISHRAE with a futuristic vision of organizing an energy efficient exhibition, is taking ACREX India 2014 towards being a Carbon Neutral exhibition. The expo has always had its focus on energy-efficient technologies and this year ISHRAE has given further impetus to promote and showcase technologies and products which will not only be energy efficient but will also use clean energy sources like PV, Tidal and Wind energy.
Ashish Rakheja, Chairman, ACREX India 2014, said, “It is a moment of great pride that today in its 14th edition, ACREX India has emerged as South Asia’s Largest International Exhibition on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services. ACREX India 2014 at New Delhi will touch yet another milestone by being bigger, better and aiming to become Carbon Neutral. We are also encouraging Indian Industries & also exhibition organizers to implement the principle of three R’s i.e Reduce, Recycle & Reuse to benefit the environment and also cost effective.”

Netmagic Launches Software Defined Storage Service
Netmagic, an NTT Communications company and India’s only Datacenter Infrastructure Lifecycle Management (DILM) service provider, has announced the launch of Netmagic Tiered Secure Storage (NTSS), India’s first Storage-as-a-Service that provides metered IOPS for customers' mission-critical applications. NTSS is a customized multi-platform software-defined storage offering available to public cloud customers as well as customers with single-tenant environments such as dedicated servers or private clouds. Software-defined storage allows offloading the computationally heavy aspects of storage-management-related functions enabling higher amount of CPU power availability within the cloud.
The per GB per month cost starts from Rs 8 varies according to the IOPS slabs and volume of storage customers choose.
NTSS offers QoS by guaranteeing Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) at the application level with total tenant isolation. IOPS is a common performance measurement used to benchmark storage and application performance and is an important factor when it comes to running critical applications.
Customers have the flexibility to choose from as many as 12 IOPS slabs starting from 50 IOPS up to 6000 IOPS and storage capacities starting from as little as 100 GB. Customers also have the choice to deploy the service across platforms – be it SimpliCloud (Netmagic’s public cloud service) or customers’ own private cloud.
