Zomato’s CEO Deepinder Hints Company’s Profitability

According to reports Zomato is likely to announce its results for the December quarter on Thursday, 9 February

Zomato’s CEO Deepinder Goyal’s recent tweet hints, at the delivery platform’s profitability.

Deepinder today tweeted a congratulatory post to Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder of Paytm as the digital payments reported EBITDA level profitability (before ESOP costs) of Rs 31 crore in the December quarter.

His tweet read, “Congratulations, @vijayshekhar and @Paytm on becoming profitable. Sorry, a bit late to the party – was so busy working on our own profitability.”

According to reports Zomato is likely to announce its results for the December quarter on Thursday, 9 February. 

Meanwhile, it recorded Rs 1,661.30 consolidated revenue for the quarter July-August-September from Rs 1,024.20 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, a 62.20 per cent surge. And a consolidated net loss of Rs 250.80 crore, higher than the June quarters of Rs 186 crore, and a loss less than the last year’s Rs 434.90 crore.

Paytm’s EBITDA profits came out a few days back marking the company’s positive tick that narrows its consolidated net loss from Rs 778 crore in the December quarter of FY22 to Rs 392 crore in Q3 FY23.
