Zoho - ManageEngine Integrating Business And IT Management

Living in the Cloud

As more and more of applications are shifting on the cloud and devices increase across platforms what happened to ERP a decade ago is happening to IT management now. No longer required are huge infrastructure cost. Cloud computing is turning out to be a great financial saver for SMBs and SOHOs.

When you run your own servers, the overall cost of maintaining and managing can go up leading to unwanted and unplanned expenditures. But, in the world of cloud everything you need can be availed for nominal cost. In terms of cost what would cost at least a minimum of few good lacs to begin with, setting up servers etc. now starts as less as Rs 2500 per person.

Sync Business Apps and IT Management

Zoho, company having its suite of cloud computing business apps and ManageEngine, enterprise IT management unit of Zoho Corp recently got into a collaboration to align IT and business together.

This collaboration is coming from one of the leaders in cloud computing shows a trend how business and IT management can no longer be isolated. Zoho’s online suite includes Zoho CRM, Mail, Analytics, Projects and more. In April this year Zoho had also launched its GST complaint Zoho Finance Plus. ManageEngine on the other hand offers a comprehensive IT Management software that includes managing multiple vendors, platforms and more.

Raj Sabhlok, President ManageEngine said “There is a need for integration of various apps. The future of IT is the intersection of technology and business.”

Complex IT Management

Businesses are getting complex. Processes even more complex. The IT desk doesn’t just have a daunting task but the very operations of an enterprise depend on how well the IT assets are managed. To add to the complexity these IT assets could well be multi-vendor and from information sharing to security to managing threats the operations the tasks could be even more complex. All this could make it functionally disconnected from the business objectives.

ManageEngine Philosophy

ManageEngine which started in 1996 is based in USA with majority of its workforce based out of their Chennai office has over 8000 paid customers in India. It comprises around 60 per cent revenue of Zoho Corp. According to them their CAGR is around 30 – 35 per cent over the last 5 years.

In terms of pricing ManageEngine offers their standard edition of ServiceDesk Product to manage the IT help desk tickets of the company for free for about 5 users and charges only $995 for about 10 users. Raj Sabhlok summarizes their cloud philosophy interestingly “Never flow in a consultant to fix the problem.”

In terms of competition there is Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, BMC and others.
