Zepto, the recently minted unicorn in the e-commerce startup scene, has emerged as the top-choice startup workplace among professionals in India, according to LinkedIn's 'Top 20 Indian Startups List.' LinkedIn, a Microsoft-owned platform, compiled this annual ranking by analysing data from nearly 10 million members, shedding light on the evolving preferences of professionals in India's dynamic job market.

Zepto's rise to the number one spot reflects its increasing attractiveness to professionals, driven by factors such as robust employee growth, high interest from job seekers, active engagement of members within the organisation and its ability to attract top talent.

It's worth noting that Zepto faces stiff competition from other Indian startups. In close pursuit in the rankings are BluSmart, an electric vehicle cab aggregator; Ditto Insurance, a fintech innovator; Pocket FM, an audio over-the-top platform and Skyroot Aerospace, a player in the space exploration sector.

Talking to a media house, Nirajita Banerjee, Head of Editorial at LinkedIn India, provided insights into this year's list, highlighting that 14 startups made their debut on the ranking. This underscores the vast potential and rapid innovation within India's startup landscape. Banerjee also emphasised that these startups are actively seeking to expand their teams, presenting professionals with an opportunity to contribute to India's thriving startup ecosystem.
