Manu Jain, a global vice president of Xiaomi and the company's previous head of its Indian operations, has announced his resignation from the Chinese electronics manufacturer after nine years on the job.

The development coincides with an ongoing legal dispute between the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Xiaomi on alleged FEMA violations by the company.

Jain joined the Xiaomi Group in 2014 to begin the company's journey in India, but after three years of operations, the company experienced quick growth and rose to the top spot among smartphone brands.

He announced his resignation on Twitter and said, "Change is the only constant in life! Last 9 years, I'm lucky to have received so much love that it makes this goodbye so difficult. Thank you all. The end of a journey also marks the beginning of a new one, full of exciting opportunities. Hello to a new adventure!"
