When people think of their own capacity to go into the world and achieve, they set targets and dreams for themselves. Very few out of those people who set out to achieve targets, actually get to the point they planned originally. Even fewer go and exceed their expectations of themselves and an infinitely small percentage reach ultra-high success exceeding all horizons they had imagined. Obviously, horizon keeps shifting further away with revised goals but to get to that high performance capacity takes a good work life balance.

Our body and mind need to be conditioned to outperform our previous benchmarks and then maybe some targets, that are out there to beat or goals you set for yourself. For example, running 10 kms a day, or meditating for 10 minutes daily, or 150 push-ups, it could be anything. There are plenty of articles and videos available about a good work life balance, things that can help you harness your inner potential and perform at your highest level. If we analyze success stories in business, we will notice that success sways towards people who adopt a healthy work life balance, where they do well in terms of managing their personal and professional lives simultaneously and successfully. Corporations who respect personal space of all their employees, just like the privileges of the bosses, essentially are contributing in creating overall development of their employees and they will lead to these people being highly productive, loyal and motivated. Such companies are likely to do better. In doing this, we are bringing out the best in others, and humans are born with infinite capacity. Mental, emotional and family needs need to be balanced with modest working days and work hours.

One must revisit career targets to accommodate personal ones. Education hasn’t been linked directly to financial success necessarily but a successful career can be a result of positivity, health and being an aware human being more so. Education is important. Dreams of a student will most likely change as they grow older and educational age of youngsters is an evolutionary process of self-discovery along with learning. Career starts and dreams get more realistic and so on. Some of the most famous success stories are college or school drop outs, but that doesn’t mean every drop out is going to be successful. Education is an insurance for life and an educated, scientific and sustainable approach to life, will help one create a healthy work life balance. With such an approach, pragmatism will prevail and automatically, we will be inclined to act on absolute information, rather than working tirelessly and mindlessly and not getting to the destination.

To conclude, in order to create 40 CEO level performers, out of 40 qualified employees, treat them well and encourage a work life balance with focus on all rounded lives, and most will turn out to be unicorns, if not all!
