Winjit Tech Migrates To Windows Azure

Winjit Technologies, a mobile application development company, has deployed Windows Azure to manage its IT requirements more effectively and has reduced its infrastructure cost by 30 per cent. Winjit needed to partner with a strategic cloud solutions provider to cater to the explosive growth in the reach of their mobile applications.

Ashwin Kandoi, Co-founder, Winjit says, “Windows Azure has proven to be the cloud platform that helps us focus our energy on doing what we do best – build high quality apps – without worrying about where our backend infrastructure is. Winjit leveraged Windows Azure services such as support for PHP, Java and Linux and Azure media services that helped create a media streaming server on Azure in no-time. By migrating its development infrastructure - Team Foundation Server and Exchange Server - to the Windows Azure platform, Winjit’s cost per development seat has also reduced significantly.

Tata Comm, PCCW Global Bring VO IPX, HD Voice To Mobile Operators
Tata Communications, a provider of communications, and PCCW Global, an operating division of HKT, Hong Kong’s  telecommunications service provider, have signed an agreement to interconnect their IPX (IP-Exchange) communities.

This will enable IP communications services such as HD voice and HD video in various global markets. As 4G adoption continues to gather pace, this agreement further expands the global community of interconnected mobile network operators (MNOs) who will be able to capitalise on the latest technology innovations in mobile broadband.

Hathway Selects STMicroelectronics To Power Its HD Set-Top Boxes

STMicroelectronics, a semiconductor serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, has announced that Hathway, a cable Multi-System Operator (MSO) in India with more than six million digital subscribers has chosen ST’s highly integrated systems-on-chips (SoC) to power two of its advanced high-definition (HD) set-top boxes. ST’s STiH273 (Palma) drives Hathway’s newest HD entry-level set-top box and the STi7141 forms the heart of the new-generation interactive, Multi-Tuner HD DVR set-top box.

A highly-integrated, secure and optimized HD cable chipset, the STiH273 allows Hathway to deliver a great user experience in entry-level set-top boxes. The technology will help broaden market access to HD zappers and enable Hathway to win extra subscribers and grow revenues. Manufactured in 40nm process technology, the chipset supports an enhanced processing engine with integrated on-chip features that simplify set-top box design, enable operators to take advantage of lower-cost memories, and meet the latest low-power objectives. The STiH273 integrates a field-proven and widely deployed DVB-C demodulator and it has been optimized to work with high-performance external CAN and silicon tuners to meet the stringent RF-performance requirements of the Indian Cable networks. The STiH273 also delivers high-quality Faroudja video, 3DTV support, connectivity, and advanced security schemes with all the latest CAS (Conditional Access System) support, such as NSK2.

With the ongoing mandated transition to digital TV services across India, ST’s comprehensive and complete solutions, designed for fast time-to-market, will enable service providers to bring out the best and most affordable digital set-top box solutions to their subscribers.

Amazon.in Expands Selection With Baby Products, Toys

PT. Collega, ElectraCard Services Enter Into Multi-Million Dollar Agreement
