The reservation provided to Muslims in Telangana in terms of employment and education, as well as the implementation of welfare programmes like double-bedroom homes, has been dubbed "unconstitutional" by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who also threatened that it would be withdrawn once the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assumes power in the State.

If elected in the upcoming Assembly elections, the BJP government in the State will abolish all such unlawful reservations, Shah declared while speaking at a gathering of the public held on Sunday at Chevella in the Rangareddy district under the auspices of the "Vijay Sankalp Sabha."

He urged the populace to support the BJP in its efforts to overthrow the corrupt Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government in the State and declared that the BJP would make sure that "Mahalaxmi descended on Telangana by sitting on the lotus."

The BJP bigwig claimed that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was following Asaduddin Owaisi's agenda and not celebrating Telangana Liberation Day out of concern for  Owaisi and Muslims' retaliation. He also accused the BRS of giving its direction to Majlis (AIMIM).

Once elected, BJP would commemorate Liberation Day in Parade Ground on a huge scale every year since, unlike KCR, the party has no fear of the Majlis.
