Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), took a jab at the country's ruling coalition on Sunday on the upcoming early elections, declaring that he would rather choose to be in opposition this time around than forming a weak government.

Khan acknowledged that putting together a feeble government was a mistake during an interview with a private news programme.

A weak administration will not be accepted this time, according to the PTI leader. He emphasised that a political party with a sizable majority in the legislature may change the law.

"When we apprehend mafias, they are usually freed on bond the next day. The rule of law had not been implemented, and we were aware that we had appointed the incorrect individuals to important posts," ARY News quoted Khan as saying.

Khan further criticised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for being accused of corruptly receiving Rs 16 billion but afterwards being freed because of their position of authority.

A day after Imran Khan, the party's leader was forced out of his position as prime minister by a vote of no-confidence, the PTI announced widespread resignations from the National Assembly in April of this year.
