Rashi Narang, an LSE alumnus, was doing well in her cushy private sector job. However, the lack of high-quality pet products in the market made her realise there was an untapped potential. Her pet Sarah, a Labrador, thus became the inspiration behind starting an enterprise focused on giving the pets the best of everything. Narang eventually decided to start her own enterprise, and named it Heads Up For Tails. 

What started as a small enterprise from home to pop-up-shops in malls, today it caters to pet-parents who take keen interest in what their pets wear and eat across India. 

The workforce at Heads Up For Tails identify themselves as dog and cat people. They identify pets as family and are committed to making the lives of the family members better. This is apparent from the range of products and services they have to offer with the aim of making the lives of pets healthier, comfortable, and happier. But most importantly, they cater to strengthening the bond between pets and their human parents.

Given the market potential, success was only a matter of time for Narang. The brand today has expanded across India with more than 30 standalone stores. Its store in New Delhi’s Khan Market, one of the world’s most expensive real estate spaces and often identified as Asia’s most expensive, is among many well-established pet stores. The location itself speaks volumes about the brand’s successful experiment in the pet care segment. The brand is also fruitfully utilizing the e-commerce space to reach out to more and more people.
