Under PM SVANidhi Scheme, 37.84 Lakh Loans Worth Rs 4,379 Cr Disbursed Till 17 Jan

Since the inception of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY), till 24 January 2023, benefits of Rs 8474.55 crore have been provided to 60.26 lakhs beneficiaries

Under Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbharNidhi (PM SVANidhi Scheme), 37.84 lakh loans worth Rs. 4,379 crore have been disbursed till 17 January, Centre informed Parliament on Monday. 

MoS for Labour and Employment, Rameswar Teli in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today said that employment generation coupled with improving employability is the priority of the government. 

As per the latest available Annual Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) reports, the estimated unemployment rate (UR) on usual status for persons of age 15 years and above was 6.0 per cent, 5.8 per cent, 4.8 per cent and 4.2 per cent during 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21, respectively. 

In the written reply, he stated that under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat package, the Centre is providing a fiscal stimulus of more than Rs 27 lakh crore. 

He said that this package comprises various long-term schemes/programmes/policies for making the country self-reliant and creating employment opportunities.

Since the inception of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY), till 24 January 2023, benefits of Rs 8474.55 crore have been provided to 60.26 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme. 

Meanwhile, under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), collateral-free loans upto Rs 10 lakh, are extended to micro/small business enterprises and to individuals to enable them to set up or expand their business activities. 

During 2022-23 (till 20 January 2023), an amount of Rs 2.66 lakh crore was disbursed in 3.60 crore loan accounts sanctioned under the scheme.

The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme is being implemented by the government with an outlay of Rs 1.97 lakh crore, for a period of five years starting from 2021-22 which has the potential for creating 60 lakh new jobs, he said.
