UP Is Ready To Become The Growth Engine Of New India: President Draupadi Murmu

Organised with the vision of inclusive development, the UP Global Investors Summit will yield results in days to come. By implementing far-sighted policies, Uttar Pradesh is ready to become the growth engine of New India. This was stated by the President of India Draupadi Murmu. She was addressing the valedictory session of the UPGIS in Lucknow on Sunday.
The three day event came to a close with the President’s presence in the state capital. MoUs of investment proposals worth about Rs 33 lakh crore have been signed for the inclusive development in Uttar Pradesh. 93 lakh new jobs will be created in the state.
Addressing the gathering that included entrepreneurs, investors, policy makers, ministers, and officials, the President said that Uttar Pradesh contributes significantly to the economy of the country. She said that Uttar Pradesh is the land of the food giver or the Annadata. It is the leader in the production of food grains, sugarcane, potatoes and milk in the country.
The President said that there are many possibilities of development of agriculture-based entrepreneurship in UP. It is a matter of pleasure that the UP government is encouraging the food processing industry through its Food Processing Policy. Describing herself as a member from a farmer’s family, the President was all praises for the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his team for the efforts being made for the development of agriculture and agro-based industries.
She said that the year 2023 is being marked as the International Year of Millets by the United Nation and the UP government is working towards creating an efficient demand and supply chain for millets.
The President said that political stability and continuity prove to be a boon for industrial development. The way the UP government has made efforts to simplify the procedures for investment in Uttar Pradesh is commendable. She said that there are 95 lakh MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh, which is the highest in the country. MSME is the sector providing maximum employment opportunities after agriculture and has a major role in economic development.
She further said that the Defence Corridor of UP is not only making India a self-reliant country for defence manufacturing,but also promote employment and development. Talking about UP’s Green Energy Corridor, she said that UP’s effort will add to the green energy target of the country.
Earlier, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the President and thanked all the participants for successfully making the UPGIS truly a grand event. Addressing the gathering, Yogi said, “The investment that has come in Uttar Pradesh will not only foster development but also will benefit the investors.”
Highlighting information about the achievements of the three-day Global Investors Summit, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that investment proposals worth Rs 33.50 lakh crore were received in this global investment summit. With this investment, 93 lakh jobs and employment will be created. He said while earlier investment was restricted only in the NCR region, the summit saw investment being received for all 75 districts in the state.
Yogi said the state government is committed to making Uttar Pradesh a developed state of new India and the largest economy of the country. Yogi emphasised that UP will be celebrated as a trillion dollar economy with the aim of making it the biggest economy in the country.
UP’s Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi also addressed the closing ceremony of the Global Investors Summit. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with ministers, public representatives, senior officers, investors from the country and abroad were also present.
