The Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh is all set to present the largest ever budget of the state in the assembly on Wednesday. The annual budget 2023-24 will be presented by the UP Finance minister Suresh Khanna.

According to Khanna, the UP annual budget is expected to focus heavily on infrastructure development, health sector and education. Sources say that the budget size is expected to increase by 8-10 per cent and is expected to be around Rs 7 lakh crore.

The last budget stood at Rs 6.48 lakh crore, including Rs 33,000 crore raised through supplementary demands. This will be largest budget to be tabled by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Riding high on the investments worth Rs 33.5 lakh crore which the state government received in the recently concluded Global Investors Summit, the budget is expected to heavily focus on infrastructure development, IT, health and education sectors. It would also have much to cheer about for women, youth and the poor.

The budget is also likely to focus on Uttar Pradesh government`s consultant Deloitte`s first report on taking the state to one trillion-dollar economy target.
