Two Weeks After Cyber Attack, AIIMS's Server Resumes Partially

As per the media reports, on Tuesday, some new and follow-up registrations were made both online and offline at the new Rajkumari Amrita Kaur (RAK) OPD

The server facilities at the main building of) here resumed partially on Tuesday, two weeks post the ransomware attack on All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the server facilities at the main building of the hospital have resumed partially on Tuesday. 

As per the media reports, on Tuesday, some new and follow-up registrations were made both online and offline at the new Rajkumari Amrita Kaur (RAK) OPD.

Although, the facilities are yet to be fully operationalise.  some more days will be required to get back to completely online registration mode, the media reports added.

Moreover, allegedly the computers have been scanned and uploaded with antivirus for safety.

Recently the healthcare sector has faced a slew of attacks starting from AIIMS server went down on November 23. The e-hospital services are yet to be restored. Allegedly, AIIMS has uploaded anti-virus software and scanned around 4000 computers so far for added security.

Following this the hospital issued a issued fresh guidelines for manual admission which delineated that under standard operating procedures (SOPs), discharge or transfer of patients will be done manually at the hospital till the time e-Hospital is down.

Earlier, on November 30, just over a span of 24 hours, more than 6,000 attempts were made to hack the server of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), but they were thwarted, as per media reports.

Previously, the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi also allegedly faced a cyberattack in the middle of November. However, the manual OPD process had little effect on services.
