Twitter is bringing back its Chirp Developer Conference and it will be held in San Francisco, California. This would be Twitter’s first live developer conference since 2015.

After hosting its Twitter Flight conference in 2015, the social media giant had gone into a long hiatus. Now, Twitter is bringing back its original Chirp Developer Conference, which will help developers connect with the Twitter team and others in the community.

“We are bringing back Chirp, our original developer conference, which will take place this year on November 16th in San Francisco, CA and online. Chirp 2022 will celebrate the innovation developers have brought to Twitter, reveal opportunities that await, and introduce a few surprises along the way”, announced Twitter on its blog.

Twitter has said that the conference will include a keynote, technical sessions, opportunities to meet the Twitter Developer Platform team to get your questions answered and connect with other developers in our global community.

The Chirp Developer Conference is being held in hybrid format, so the social media company will be hosting developer community in-person. For those who cannot make it to San Francisco, Twitter will be engaging them online.

Interestingly, Twitter’s Chirp Conference was shelved after it went online in 2010. The event stood to be cancelled in the subsequent years. The timing of the company event could be termed as amusing as Twitter still faces uncertainty about its future post Musk’s offer.

In conjunction with the event, Twitter has also introduced ‘the Chirp Developer Challenge’, which is inviting developers to submit apps in the categories of Content Discovery apps, Conversation Safety tools, and Public Good apps. Winners of the challenge could win prizes at over USD 520,000 along with one-year of free enterprise-grade access to the Twitter API v2, a dedicated one-hour session with Twitter Product team, and paid and organic Twitter promotion.

Registrations for Chirp will begin soon.
