Top 10 Fastest Growing Jobs In India, According To LinkedIn

LinkedIn identifies the fastest growing and upcoming jobs that saw the largest growth in frequency in years between 2013 and 2017. The report which states top 10 emerging jobs in India, also highlights the skills needed for each role.

Feon Ang, Vice-President, (Asia Pacific)LinkedIn talent and learning solutions said, “India’s indigenous tech talent has taken several global tech giants to success, hence it is no surprise that India’s top-5 emerging jobs orbit around technology and core technical skills across sectors.” 

LinkedIn has garnered the report from its over 50 million members in India who included work experience on their profile and then grouped together the millions of unique, user-input job titles based on common job roles.

Key Highlights From The LinkedIn Report

• The role of  machine learning engineer has grown 43 times in the past five years in India
• Over 50 percent of machine learning professionals in India have a bachelor’s degree and are trained on the job
• The role of customer service management in India has seen 27 percent growth in demand
• The report estimates; in 2017, India contributed 22 percent data scientists migrating to Singapore

The LinkedIn report states that with the increase in-demand for emerging roles, the key will be to upskill talent; and focus on candidate’s skills rather than previous job titles. Transferable skills will be key to adapt to a changing workforce and soft skills will be imperative for success, along with a high aptitude for adaptability, resilience, and entrepreneurial skills.
