Panasonic India believes in allowing its workforce to be creative, be able to make decisions, solve problems and contribute to the overall success of the business. The company proactively encourages employees to participate in premise activities, specially created for the endurance of their well being.

Culture drivers and innovators are created to spearhead activities that promote physical fitness, healthy eating and mental wellness.

Adarsh Mishra, CHRO, Panasonic India, shared, “Under the new and refurbished second edition of ‘Vibrant Panasonic’, Panasonic has initiated weight loss and fitness based challenges to help facilitate the aspect of fitness, by challenging individuals in a supportive environment.”

By assisting employees to take part in recreational activities which also improves their physical wellbeing, is one of the ways to encourage employees to utilise their full potential.

There are certain skills for the growth of employees within the organization, such as:

Attitude plays a significant role in the entire hiring process. By focusing on attitudinal characteristics that align with our brand, we reinforce a distinctive company culture with each new hire.

Teamwork is another vital parameter that is kept in consideration while making a hiring decision. Strong team integrity can be trusted for any work they are given. Sometimes more than work, we check how comfortable the candidate with working in a team. We look for people who exude a positive outlook and tenacity ― both traits that help an employee better respond to challenges when they arise.

Willingness to learn is an important trait that we look for in all our future employees. During the entire hiring process, we do situation analysis of the candidate that helps us understand his/her willingness to learn as learning is the key to success at any level.

Adarsh Mishra, CHRO, Panasonic India shared, “We strongly believe in the core theme of ‘Learn, Live and Achieve’ and attune all our employees’ development around these parameters. People with 5-6 years of experience are more often than not asked to lead groups of people in tasks, given their professional expertise.

The presence of leadership skills within them is important here, the ability to guide team members when the going gets tough, delegation of tasks according to the individual’s skill and most importantly the ability to motivate are the qualities that are considered to hire a professional at Panasonic India.

Adarsh Mishra added, “Promoting gender diversity has always been high on Panasonic India’s agenda and something we’ve always worked towards. In order to retain our top female employees and attract more of them, we have a day care facility within the premises, designed specifically for the relative comfort of the women workforce. “

Another agenda that stands out is the intellisurvellience app, a video surveillance application for new mothers which connects them to the crèche in the office premises via their smartphone. We understand the need to keep the young mother and the toddlers in close proximity; hence this facility was established to keep the two of them in reaching distance of each other.
