The Multifaceted Career Of Rrashima Swaarup Verma: Author And Business Leader

A Post Graduate in Business Administration, Rrashima Swaarup Verma has spent close to two decades in the corporate world. She is a senior business consultant and strategic analyst by profession, and has tremendous experience across a very wide range of industry and functional segments. Rrashima is currently Senior Director – Business Development with a leading, global business research and strategic planning group, which works with Fortune 500 companies around the world. 

Rrashima started writing at the age of seven when she penned her first short story. In school, she was Head of the Debate and Public Speaking Club as well as Editor of the school magazine. Over the years, she brought home several prestigious awards for public speaking and creative writing including the Times of India Poetry Writing Award. She continued writing in college and university, and then through her professional career as well. 

Rrashima writes widely on romance, relationships, human interest, social change, gender equality and other pertinent issues. Rrashima’s articles, short stories and poems have been widely published in leading national and international literary magazines and newspapers like The Times of India, The Statesman, First City, Woman’s Era, Women’s Web, The Writers and Readers Magazine (UK), West Trestle Review California, Indian Review, Indian Periodical, Spark – The Magazine, Active Muse. An award winning speaker, Rrashima has also participated in several prominent literary festivals and has moderated many prestigious book launches and discussions. She was awarded the winning position for Best Fiction in the Orange Flower Awards 2023, powered by the leading women’s publication, Women’s Web.  

Rrashima’s first book “A Break In Love”, was represented by The Book Bakers literary agency and published by Vishwakarma Publications in 2021. The book was widely featured across print and digital media and was endorsed by The Times of India. “A Break In Love” received excellent reviews from readers across the globe, and became a bestseller within days of its release. Her second book “The Royal Scandal – A love story that changed the power dynamics in British India”, has also been represented by The Book Bakers and has been published by Srishti Publishers and Distributors in November 2022. “The Royal Scandal” is a historical non-fiction from 18th century India. This book also became a bestseller and has been consistently topping the bestseller charts since its release. “The Royal Scandal” is critically acclaimed and Rrashima has been widely appreciated for the intense research that she undertook while writing this book, as well as for her highly engaging narration of this love story from Indian history. The book has been endorsed by noted and eminent scholars and historians. 

Other than being a successful business professional and bestselling author, Rrashima is also a fitness enthusiast, keen traveller and mother to an energetic 11-year-old. She says she draws inspiration from the world around her, to which she wants to contribute through her writing. She enjoys traveling to different countries which gives her the opportunity to observe and learn from varied cultures. She feels that adds multiple facets to her writing as well.
