Technologies Have Profound Impact On Homeland Security: Rajendra Agrawal, MoP

At the eighth India Homeland Security Summit Rajendra Agrawal, Member of Parliament spoke about the efforts of the Indian government and various state governments to modernise and upgrade the police forces across the country. 

We should be ready for anything that comes up and updates in all forms and technologies have a profound impact on homeland security, Agrawal said while addressing the conference organised by Assocham in New Delhi. Smart policing, border security solutions and innovation are opportunities for the homeland security sector and for India to become the next major manufacturing centre, he added.

SN Shrivastava, IPS (Retd), Former Commissioner, Delhi Police Member, Public Police NGO said, “Cyber security glitches need to be addressed and adopting new tech is a viable option to minimise operational overheads. Cyber security concerns and attacks have a potential of affecting protection and production quality and safety of human lives.”

Vikram Singh, IPS (Retd), Former DGP, UP Police highlighted that we should be a generation ahead of our neighbouring countries in terms of adopting new technologies and updating. This will lead to a success of law and enforcement. We have customised solutions related to artificial intelligence and machine learning, he added.
A joint knowledge report by EY and Assocham on the topic, ''Emerging technologies in homeland security'' was released by the eminent dignitaries and industry stakeholders.
