The iPhone maker Apple is set to enter into a pact with Tata Group-owned Infiniti Retail, which runs the Croma store chain, to open 100 small exclusive Apple stores across the country.

According to a media report, Infiniti Retail will become an Apple franchisee partner and aims to open 100 such outlets of 500-600 sq ft each at malls as well as high-street and neighbourhood locations.

These Apple Authorised Reseller outlets will be smaller compared to Apple Premium Reseller stores, which are typically more than 1,000 sq ft in area. The smaller stores will sell iPhones, iPads and watches, while the larger format ones will have the entire Apple range. At present, India has around 160 Apple Premium Reseller stores.

Apple's iPhone global revenue increased 10 per cent year-on-year to a record $42.6 billion in the September quarter, with the new 14 series driving brisk sales in India.

Meanwhile, Apple’s first company-owned flagship store is likely to open in Mumbai in the March quarter, the report added.
