Tata Communications Inaugurates Its 44th Data Centre

Tata Communications, a leading provider of a new world of communications, on Wednesday (16 July) inaugurated its 44th data centre in Greater Kailash, New Delhi. This data centre is located in the heart of the city and is an integral part of Tata Communications’ overall objective to strengthen its global data centre footprint.

The company plans to invest more than $200 million towards doubling its capacity in India over a period of three years. These data centres offer a complete array of configuration choices, including shared rack space, full cabinets and cage space colocation along with unlimited scalability in the future. Centrally managed, these data centres provide customers with optimal performance, reduced total cost of ownership, security and effective utilisation of resources.

Benoy CS, Director, ICT Practice, Frost & Sullivan, says, "With an increase in the uptake of cloud services, datacentre has become a critical element in every enterprises’ infrastructure strategy. The third party datacentre market is poised to grow very fast as many enterprises are now strategising to avail  IT Infrastructure ‘as a service’ rather than investing in huge captive datacentres."

Logitech's Protective Cases For iPad 
Logitech, the global provider of personal peripherals for computers and other digital platforms, on Wednesday announced the addition of Big Bang for iPad Air and iPad Mini along with Ultra-thin folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, to their existing range of tablet accessories.

The new devices are built keeping in mind the aesthetics of the tablets, are ultra-thin and rugged to maximize the user experience of your tablet. The Logitech Big Bang for iPad Air and iPad mini not only provides military class protection but also is versatile in its design to provide users various viewing angles. Likewise, the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 has a sleek keyboard that features well-spaced keys and a row of Android shortcut keys for added convenience and to provide a great typing experience.

Rockstand To Add 5000 Magazine Titles
Rockstand, the leading E-Books and E-Magazines mobile application available across Android, IOS & Windows platforms on Wednesday announced the addition of leading auto and business magazines to its portfolio. It has added The Week, Auto India, Business India among other e-magazines to its store. The addition is in line with the ongoing initiative of Rockstand to build the largest bank of e-reading material to its customers. Rockstand has already tied with over 600 publishers and has added 700 e-magazines to its kitty in a short span of six months, making it the second largest e-magazine application in the country.

Rockstand aims to add 5000 e-magazines by October 2014 which will ensure its leadership in this space.

Commenting on the addition Mr Praveen Rajpal, CEO, Rockstand said, “Keeping our esteemed readers in mind, we aim to add 5000 e-magazines by October 2014 so that our users can access the largest collection of magazines on Rockstand. Rackspace Rolls Out New Managed Cloud Services
Rackspace, the Managed Cloud company, on Wednesday announced a new managed service model for delivering public cloud services that gives businesses and developers the help they need to design, manage, scale and grow their cloud operations.

In addition, Rackspace announced “developer +,” a new programme for developers that offers essential services needed to build scalable applications. The programme enables developers to easily sample Rackspace Managed Cloud services and Fanatical Support.

"The cloud market is evolving. More customers are looking for a trusted partner with specialised expertise to help manage their cloud. Rackspace is ideally positioned to lead this Managed Cloud segment of the market,” said Graham Weston, Rackspace co-founder and CEO.

A10 Networks Introduces Thunder SPE Appliance Family
 A10 Networks, a technology leader in application networking, on Wednesday announced the Thunder SPE appliance family, a new line of high-speed, high-capacity application networking appliances. The new appliance leverage specialized hardware to perform security and policy enforcement at ultra high speeds. In addition, the new appliances deliver up to a 40 per cent processing performance boost relative to current systems, creating a very powerful and secure application networking solution for large service provider and enterprise customers.

Thunder SPE appliances leverage A10's innovative new Security and Policy Engine (SPE) to implement security and policy enforcement functions at higher speed, harnessing the power of additional and enhanced hardware components. These solutions have robust security and processing hardware functionality that allow them to continue to provide full system functionality.

GetitBazaar Rebrands Itself To AskmeBazaar
In a strategic move, getitBazaar, India’s leading SME Bazaar that helps small and medium businesses to sell their products to buyers from across India have announced their new trade name “askmeBazaar” for its operations.

The rebranding is the outcome of the corporate entity rebranding itself as ‘askme’ for its entire consumer facing offerings. The new name is seen to have better connect and a more direct relationship with what is offered by the company. The new branding will appear across all customer experience platforms, including the new company website.

Apical To Cater AKiTiO Thunder2 PCIe Expansion Box
Apical, distributor for solution based product line, on Wednesday announced the launch of AKiTiO Thunder2 Quad from Akitio for Windows and Mac users.

The portable Thunderbolt 2 PCIe expansion box provides an additional PCIe slot for systems that do not support or have enough available space for expansion cards. The external Thunderbolt 2 connection allows users to daisy-chain up to 5 additional Thunderbolt devices, making this the ideal plug and play companion. Replacing the card is a simple matter of removing three hand tightening screws, so no tools are required.

Thunderbolt 2 technology incorporates DisplayPort 1.2 support, which allows for video streaming to a single 4K video monitor.  Video editors can now use a single port to connect external Thunderbolt devices and a 4K display. The PCIe (x16) slot accepts half-length, full-height, double-width cards and provides a maximum of 25W. Replacing the card can be done without tools, simply by removing two hand tightening screws for the chassis and one for the card. The second Thunderbolt 2 port lets to daisy-chain five Thunderbolt devices together.

Centre For Science Of Learning Inaugurated At Alwarpet
