TCS Becomes First Indian IT company To Capitalise Market Of $200 Million

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Wednesday, became the first Indian technology corporation to reach the $200 billion market capitalization (m-cap) threshold.

TCS Becomes First Indian IT company To  Capitalise Market Of $200 Million

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Wednesday, became the first Indian technology corporation to reach the $200 billion market capitalization (m-cap) threshold.

 

TCS's shares hit a new career-high of Rs 3,980 before concluding the day at Rs 3,955, up 1.8 per cent from the previous day's close, extending this year's winning run. 

 

Following a significant boom in IT stocks, the IT services company's stock has risen 35 per cent this year. 

 

Meanwhile, Reliance Industries (RIL) is now the most valued firm, with a market capitalization of approximately $205 billion. 

 

TCS has been in business for 50 years, having been listed on stock exchanges in 2004.

Accenture and IBM, CS's global rivals, are valued at $216 billion and $122 billion, respectively, while Infosys is valued at $99 billion.

 

For the first quarter ended June 30, 2021, the IT behemoth reported a 28.5 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 9,008 crore.
