Swiggy recently faced accusations of rounding up order amounts to the nearest whole number and adding an additional Rs 3 to customers' bills. This issue was initially brought to light by a user named 'kingslyj' on a social media platform (formerly Twitter). Kingslyj pointed out that he had been overcharged by Rs 3.09 on his Swiggy order, and he cited the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) instructions as the reason behind this discrepancy.

In his post, Kingslyj mentioned, "I recently noticed that all Swiggy transactions were rounded up to whole figures, while other card transactions still displayed paisa amounts. Upon investigation, I found that @Swiggy used to charge the exact amount down to the paisa in the past but has now started rounding up."

Subsequently, other users examined their order histories and confirmed that they had also experienced additional charges on their Swiggy orders.

Swiggy responded to these allegations by addressing them on the same social media platform. They stated that the issue was, in fact, a 'tech bug,' and customers had not been intentionally charged extra for their orders.
