Sterlite Power announced on Friday that it has been awarded a green energy transmission scheme in Rajasthan.

According to a company statement, the project was bid out using the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) procedure. PFC Consulting provided Sterlite Power with a Letter of Intent (LoI) to construct the project on a BOOT (build, own, operate, transfer) basis for 35 years.

Sterlite Power has been granted the transmission project for the evacuation of power from renewable energy zones in the Rajasthan districts of Fatehgarh (9.1 GW), Bhadla (8 GW) and Ramgarh (2.9 GW).

The entire transmission system is a crucial component of the Ministry of Power's 2022 roadmap for integrating over 500 GW of renewable energy capacity into the national grid by 2030.

The project will entail the construction of a 350-kilometre (765-kV) transmission line from Fatehgarh III to Beawar in Rajasthan.

Sterlite Power is a prominent private sector power transmission infrastructure developer and solutions provider in India and Brazil, with a solid portfolio of 30 finished, sold, and under-construction projects totalling 14,602 circuit kilometres of transmission lines.
