Srei Total Income Grows 5% To 3,260 Cr

Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited, an infrastructure financial institutions, recorded a 5 per cent growth in its consolidated total income at Rs 3,260.30 crore during the year ended 31 March 2014 as compared to Rs 3,109.92 crore during period last year.

Srei consolidated assets under management stood at Rs 34,070 crore as on 31 March as compared to Rs 33,330 crore in the previous year. The consolidated disbursement during the year ended, 2014 was recorded at Rs 12,706 crore as compared to Rs 15,667 crore in the last fiscal. The consolidated profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 138.51 crore during the year ended 31 March 2014 while the consolidated profit before tax was recorded at Rs 225.62 crore. Operating Profit before exceptional item for the year ended 31 March 2014 stood at Rs 556.53 crore as compared to Rs 561.79 crore during the previous year.

China, Australia Emerge As Major Upcoming Markets For Shale Developments: GlobalData

The development of unconventional oil and gas resources is gaining momentum across the world, with China and Australia becoming two of the most important emerging markets for shale and Coal Bed Methane (CBM) exploration, says research and consulting firm GlobalData.

According to the company’s latest report, China has approximately 643 billion barrels (bbl) of risked, prospective shale oil and 4,746 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of risked shale gas in-place, of which around 32 billion bbl and 1,115 tcf are estimated to be technically recoverable.

Other countries, such as Argentina, Poland, Canada and Venezuela, have also been increasing investment in their shale gas resources. Poland possesses an estimated 1.8 billion bbl of shale oil and 146 tcf of shale gas resources, while Argentina’s estimated technically recoverable shale resources amount to 27 billion bbl oil and 802 tcf of gas, according to GlobalData.

Australia is also witnessing a substantial development of CBM and shale gas resources, according to GlobalData. The country already has a well-developed CBM industry, which would support a number of planned Liquefied Natural Gas export projects.

Dell Attains No. 1 Spot In Indian PC Market In Q1
Dell India, a technology solutions provider, has announced that it has attained the No. 1 position in the Indian PC Market with a 23.1 per cent share across segments in Q1CY2014, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC). With 33.1 per cent share, Dell is also the No.1 Notebook Brand in India. This leadership position, reiterates Dell’s belief in the PC business, and follows an impressive growth trajectory built over the last few quarters in commercial and consumer segments.

Dell showed consistent growth over last few quarters in the consumer & small business segment to successfully capture the No.1 spot in Q1CY14 with 21.4 per cent share. Dell also leads the Small Business segment with an overall share of 26.2 per cent (No.1 in notebook with 61.0 per cent and desktop with 15.4 per cent).

Building on the strengths of its Consumer channel strategy, Dell recently launched a new go to market strategy to further strengthen the reach and availability of its end-user Commercial solutions in the Indian market. This strategy is planned by the company to touch a wider customer and partner base in the Indian market, with extended coverage of Tier-2 and Tier 3 cities.

JK Lakshmi Cement Operating Profits Up 91%
Aided by 18 per cent increase in the production and 2 per cent in the realisation, company’s Turnover has risen to Rs 721.55 crore up by 21 per cent as against Rs 598.16 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

As compared to the previous quarter company’s production and sales have gone up by 21 per cent and 20 per cent respectively. In the previous quarter company’s turnover was only Rs 560.07 crore.

Company’s Operating Profit improved to Rs 136.55 crore in this quarter as against Rs 118.70 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year and Rs 71.60 crore in the quarter October-December 2013.

Company’s Profit before Tax before exceptional item stood at Rs 86.65 crore for the quarter as against Rs 51.05 crore in Jan-March 2013 quarter and Rs 17.74 crore in the preceding quarter. Company has provided Rs 18.50 crore as exceptional item for old dues under litigation. After accounting for exceptional item and tax, company’s Profit after Tax (PAT) jumped by 59 per cent to Rs 52.91 crore in Jan-March 2014 quarter as against Rs 33.34 crore in  the corresponding quarter of previous year. The PAT in fact went up almost 4 times in comparison to the trailing (Q3) quarter figure which stood at Rs 14.09 crore in Oct-Dec 13 quarter.

Cumulatively for the financial year 2013-14 company’s turnover and Operating Profit stood at Rs 2293.59 crore and Rs. 346.23 crore respectively.
