Skoda Auto To Give Glimpse Of Automotive Future With Vision X At Geneva Motor Show 2018

Skoda Vision X will be the third series-production model, after Kodiaq and Karoq, to conquer the evolving SUV segment by Skoda. In India, only Skoda Kodiaq is available

Czech car manufacturer Skoda Auto will be giving a glimpse into the automotive future at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2018 with the world premiere of Skoda Vision X.

Skoda Vision X will offer a look ahead to further developments in the model range of the carmaker. The company has already teased sketches of the concept vehicle.

The urban crossover will be the third series-production model to conquer a new segment by Skoda, and advances the brand’s SUV design language. The other SUVs launched by the company are Skoda Kodiaq, and Skoda Karoq. In India, only Skoda Kodiaq is available.

Generous proportions and three-dimensional surfaces characterise the exterior, and large colour display and lighting effects highlight the interior design of Skoda Vision X.

According to the official sketches, the crossover has been shown in FlexGreen exterior paint with precise lines, clear surface contours, and a roof in contrasting Anthracite.

In addition, distinctive bumpers, dominant side sills, a large panoramic glass roof and 20-inch alloy wheels further enhance the look and built of Vision X. The sharp design was inspired by traditional Czech glasswork, the company said in an official statement.

The interior of the Skoda Vision X features wide, ergonomically contoured dashboard with freestanding colour display. The infotainment and connectivity services can be accessed quickly and intuitively via the screen. Illuminated elements made of cut crystal glass in conjunction with the colour display create atmospheric lighting effects.

Expanding the model range in the fast-growing SUV segment is the cornerstone of Skoda’s Strategy 2025.

By 2025, Skoda Auto also aims to have brought out plug-in hybrid vehicles in addition to all-electric cars. Then, every fourth vehicle the brand delivers worldwide will have a plug-in hybrid or purely electric powertrain.
