Shinde Govt Secures Majority In Maha Assembly Floor Test

164 votes are received in favor of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and with this he crossed the majority mark

The ruckus of Maharashtra politics had its final conclusion on Monday. The floor test for the Eknath Shinde government begun in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly today.

Eknath Shinde's government has crossed the majority mark in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and 145 MLAs have first voted in his favor at first. There are 288 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and the figure of 145 is needed for majority.

Later ahead of the voting held for the multiple test in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, 164 votes are received in favor of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and with this he crossed the majority mark, while 99 MLAs voted in support of the opposition. By this Sinde-led Maharashtra government wins the floor test.

Apart from that, within 10 hours of being elected as speaker, Rahul Narvekar gave a big blow to the Uddhav Thackeray faction late night before the floor test. Ajay Chaudhary and Sunil Prabhu's were appointments cancelled as the leader and chief whip of Shiv Sena Legislature Party. The leader of Shiv Sena Legislature Party in the House will now be Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Chief Whip Bharat Gogavale. However, Shiv Sena has objected to this decision of the speaker. MP Arvind Sawant said that Shiv Sena will go to court against this decision of the Speaker.
