BMW-owned British automobile brand MINI, which has unveiled its all-new MINI Countryman at the Auto Expo 2018, has finally launched the SUV in India. To be pitted against other luxury SUVs in the market such as the Mercedes-Benz GLA, the Audi Q3 and the BMW X1, the second-generation Mini Countryman is priced from Rs 34.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India) onwards with deliveries beginning from June 2018 onwards. Locally-produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, it will be available in three variants: two petrol variants - Cooper S (Rs 34.90 lakh) and Cooper S JCW Inspired (Rs 41.40 lakh) as well as one diesel variant i.e. Cooper SD (Rs 37.40 lakh).

Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, “The all-new MINI Countryman is built for adventure and an ideal companion for city trips to country getaways and long journeys. The second generation of the MINI Countryman represents a more distinctive and mature proposition of an ultimate all-rounder with ample space for you and your family. It is a perfect fit for an urban environment offering unique driving comfort, refined interiors, and clever functionality. The all-new MINI Countryman will be available in five colours: Island Blue, Light White, Chilli Red, Melting Silver and Thunder Grey, as well as British Racing Green offered exclusively for the MINI Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired. It will be available with Leatherette Carbon Black as standard upholstery and Leather Cross Punch Carbon Black for the all-new MINI Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired. Exterior features of the all-new MINI Countryman like contrasting roof, upright rear lights, hexagonal radiator grille and large headlamps have undergone development.

Safety features in all the three variants of MINI Countryman will be the same - Emergency Spare Wheel, Front and Passenger Airbag, Brake Assist, Crash Sensor, Anti-lock Braking System, Dynamic Stability Control, 3-point Seat Belts on all seats, Cornering Brake Control, and Warning Triangle with First-aid Kit.
