Sage and Yoda Press Collaborate To Launch Sage Yoda Press

Academic publisher Sage has joined hands with Yoda Press to publish books, redefining its publishing philosophy. The imprint shall be called ‘Sage Yoda Press’ and shall remain for all practical considerations an integral part of Sage.

The mutually beneficial agreement was signed between Vivek Mehra, MD and CEO of Sage India, and Arpita Das, publisher and co-founder of Yoda Press, with an objective to create an imprint that would publish books (in all forms).

Das said: "To me, big and small have never inhabited exclusive spaces, and, in publishing, I have long believed that for independent publishers to thrive they must build bridges with larger entities which make it possible for an exciting indie list to reach a wider audience and receive its due both in terms of attention and readership. The new Säge Yoda Press imprint is a step forward precisely towards such an end for my list and authors, an end which is a new awakening to audiences we have never managed to reach before."

Mehra said, "Publishing is about passion. There are many who gave up cushy jobs to pursue their passion. Sara Miller McCune (founder, publisher and executive chairman, Sage Publications) is one such individual and so was Tejeshwar Singh (ex-managing director, Sage India). There are many others who continue even when the world of publishing changes at a scorching pace. Sage is built on a vision of inclusion and dissemination. Supporting passionate publishing is integral to growing publishing."
