Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon and Canada's Richard Ivey School of Business have joined hands to develop India focused business case studies and distribute them in India and globally.

Under the strategic alliance faculty and students will collaborate across multiple areas to research and develop India based cases to support discussions on business theory in the classroom.

"Case based learning is a highly effective in making management education more attuned to real world business challenges, particularly in fast-growth and emerging economies," said Stephenson while signing the MoU. The collaboration will leverage Ivey's intellectual capital in business case study research to further the use of case studies as a pedagogical approach at MDI.

The tie-up will focus on:

  • Training high-potential faculty and case writers in the case writing and case teaching process

  • Developing a case writing and case teaching culture in Indian management schools

  • Expanding each institution's research network

"This partnership will provide tremendous opportunities for cross-collaboration between the two schools, said director of MDI, Mukul P. Gupta. "India needs more centres of excellence for high-quality case development and training programs which can transform the educational environment."

Richard Ivey has a similar MoU with Hyderabad based Indian School of Business and IIM Bangalore as well. The business school happens to be the world's largest producer of Asia based cases.
