According to a report by Counterpoint Research, the 5G Jio smartphone might be priced anywhere between INR 8000 and INR 12,000. The report also reveals that this device will be launched after the telecom company successfully rolls out the 5G services.

As per a report by Live Hindustan, 5G plans might be 20 per cent more expensive than the 4G plans. The company wants to increase its average revenue per user to INR 188 in 2024 and later to INR 208 by 2025.

Earlier reports stated that the Jio 5G-enabled smartphone is likely to have a 6.5-inch HD+IPS LCD display with a 1600x720 pixels resolution. The device is expected to run on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset along with an Adreno 619 GPU. 4GB RAM coupled with 32 GB expandable storage is also expected. The phone is also expected to run on the Google Android 11 operating system.

According to rumours, the JioPhone 5G will be released in August 2023. It will be an entry-level smartphone with specifications a bit better than the JioPhone Next. With the company acting secretive about the device, it remains unknown what could be the exact price of the JioPhone 5G.

As far as the camera is concerned, the JioPhone 5G is rumoured to offer a dual rear camera set-up including a 13MP primary shooter along with a 2MP macro lens. It may or may not come with an 8MP sensor for the selfie camera. The phone could also offer a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. A 5000mAh battery with 18W charging support via USB Type-C port is expected from the anticipated JioPhone 5G.
