Rebuilding Of Ukraine Will Take $411 Billion Over Next Decade: Report

The report was prepared by the government of Ukraine, the World Bank Group, the European Commission and the United Nations

A report released by World Bank on Wednesday puts the cost of Ukraine’s recovery at 411 billion dollars. The country got devastated by Russia’s invasion last year. The cost of cleaning up the war rubble alone at 5 billion dollars. 

The report also detailed the total number of death due to Russia’s attack; 9,655 civilians died, including 462 children; 2 million homes were damaged; health institutions were highly impacted. 

The report disclosed that the World Bank calculated 135 billion dollars will be needed to repair the buildings and other infrastructure, without counting other economic damage. The report has highlighted that Russia’s invasion has pushed Ukraine 15 years economically back.

The report was prepared by the government of Ukraine, the World Bank Group, the European Commission and the United Nations. 

The officials who prepared the report estimated trillions of dollars in cost to bring back Ukraine’s economy. The war has mainly affected the country’s education sector, nearly 2 million children have fled the country.
