Rajasthan’s Economic Development Ranks At Two In India: CM Gehlot

The minister was addressing the state-level export awards and Rajasthan’s international exhibition festival in Jodhpur

Rajasthan’s chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday highlighted the northern states’ economic growth at the International Exhibition Festival and said that it is at number two in terms of economic development.

The minister was addressing the state-level export awards and Rajasthan’s international exhibition festival in Jodhpur.

He said the centres report claims Rajasthan at number two in terms of economic development, indicating the state’s forward economic move.

The chief minister further made four important announcements to promote exports.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan international expo will be organised yearly in Jodhpur. The Handicraft Directorate (Centre) will be unveiled in Jodhpur subsequently constructing a permanent structure at Boranada, Jodhpur organising an expo every year.

A Primary Health Centre will also be opened providing medical facilities to the employees working in this area.

Highlighting the export facilities of the state, the CM said, Rajasthan is already provided with a better export environment and we can see a progressive boom.

He said the increased participation of women in the export field is a good sign playing an important role in increasing exports and skillfully managing things.

Gehlot further underlined the MSME policy and said more than 16,000 industrial units have been set up so far.

According to the policy, there would be no requirement for any kind of government permission for over five years in the MSME Establishment and Facilitation Act.

And there will be relaxation in getting necessary permissions for up to 5 years for starting any industry. They benefitted in increasing the number of small units with this provision, he added.

Commenting on the state’s strong infrastructure, Gehlot said, it’s all because of the strong infrastructure Rajasthan is exporting in various sectors including handicrafts, agro, engineering goods and gems and jewellery.

The minister further hinted at developing a refinery and petrochemicals complex in the Barmer and Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.

The State Government is developing RIICO Industrial Area in every subdivision. With this, employment and entrepreneurship are likely to increase", he added.

The CM also visited different stalls and made enquiries about the products showcased at the expo encouraging entrepreneurs, exporters and buyers.
