When everyone else was focused on solving problems of end-consumers, Moglix founder and CEO, Rahul Garg, was looking for pain points of businesses and how to resolve them. He started Moglix (Mogli Labs India) with the aim of re-imagining B2B commerce with technology. That quest led to the B2B ecommerce startup in a segment of industry that had not seen innovation for a long while. Before founding Moglix in April 2015, Garg had been the Head of Advertising & Strategy at Google Asia. He had also served as Chairperson of the Marketing and AdTech Committee at IAB, Singapore. Before that Garg had had stints in companies like Conexant Systems, Freescale Semiconductor and Ittiam Systems in the technology industry.

Garg is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He is a technology enthusiast with extensive experience in strategy, product management and operations in the technology industry. He has led and made investments in more than seven startup ventures across the globe. Garg holds 16 US patents in the domain of product management and technology.

The thought leader in the space of digital transformation and bringing procurement and supply chain efficiencies to the manufacturing industry wins a rightful place for himself in BW Businessworld’s 40 Under 40 list. Garg’s motto is to change the mindset of managements and organisations and make them amenable to buying online and changing user behaviour. He has actively been a ‘Mentor of Change’ with Niti Ayog’s Atal Innovation Mission. Garg was also a core team member of the 2016 CII Smart Manufacturing Council.

With its e-commerce platform for industrial products, Moglix now has over 300,000 SKUs (stock keeping units) that cover more than 40 product categories spread over more than 20,000 pin codes across India. Moglix.com now intends to expand to the enterprise business vertical business. In 2016 Moglix catered for 400 large manufacturing companies and over five lakh small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It recently launched its SAAS-based solutions, kicking off the global launch with iCAT with the largest FMCG company, Unilever. This procurement contracting process impacts more than 1,500 procurement professionals, operating across more than a 100 countries and manages a business worth $20 billion annually.

Moglix is India’s largest and fastest growing B2B commerce company specialising in B2B procurement of industrial products. With technology and its supply chain, Moglix is a one-stop solution for the requirements of industrial goods of  large manufacturers. The company is digitising its supply chain and making it GST compliant.

Moglix’s unique selling proposition is its ability to integrate technology and its domain expertise in supply chain management. The company’s SAAS-based platform enables it to build digital technology into the sales channel and procurement functions of manufacturing units of both large corporates and MSMEs. It also facilitates online convenience and enables supply chain efficiencies in business purchasing.

India has a $300 billion manufacturing industry, with less than two per cent technology induction. Rahul Garg, therefore, saw the immense potential the manufacturing sector offered in ecommerce. Garg said Moglix was an ardent supporter of the Make in India initiative and had introduced multiple solutions to transform and distrupt the manufacturing space. “Spread across 12 plus locations in the country, we are 600 plus strong,” he told BW Businessworld, “From 30 countries in 2016, we now export to 120 plus countries around the world.”
