Jharkhand's biggest hospital, RIMS is not testing cases of chikungunya and dengue anymore because there is no test kit available. The Department of Microbiology says that even after the request, the hospital administration has not provided the test kit.

The outbreak of mosquito-borne diseases has increased due to rains, but chikungunya and dengue are not being tested in RIMS, Ranchi. Due to lack of test kit, the testing of samples of both diseases is stopped in the microbiology department. The department says that despite the request, the RIMS administration has not yet provided the test kit.

On other side, patients have to get tested by spending Rs 800 to 1200 in a private test lab. Dr Vidyapati, Head of the Department of Medicine at RIMS, said that many dengue patients are not coming to the OPD. So there is no need to be afraid. Some malaria patients are coming, who are being given medicines.

At the same time, RIMS superintendent Dr Hirendra Birua said that he is not aware that the dengue and chikungunya test kits are over. They will take information in this regard on Monday.
