Delivery Hero, on Tuesday, predicted a 7 per cent jump in its Quarter 3 gross merchandise value (GMV) recorded at 10.6 billion euros ($10.8 billion), as opposed to what was in the period between April and June.

The company also holds a majority stake at Glovo, headquartered in Barcelona, which was also included in its prediction of its GMV reaching 11.5 billion euros within September.

In the current three-month period, the firm is expecting a recorded generation of 7 billion euros, under the Asia segment for its platform business. This accounts for almost, three-quarters of the group's GMV, thus marking an 8 per cent increase in the quarter.

This segment had been able to generate positive core earnings in Quarter 2 as well. The segment also generated positive core earnings in the second quarter.

Reiterating its goal to reach profitability for the entire group in 2023, Delivery Hero had also faced the slump of the market in the post-pandemic scenario. This was attributed to rising inflation, which lead to consumers spending less, as compared to the growth clocked by delivery firms during covid.

Previously, in the third quarter of 2021, Delivery Hero had recorded a GMV of 9.6 billion euros. This was also followed by a 65 per cent surge year-on-year, due to the rising consumer affinity during the pandemic.

Based out of Berlin, the company confirmed its preliminary figures comprised of 18 per cent GMV growth and 38 per cent revenue rise.
