The Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwan Mann said that Punjab welcomes entrepreneurs to the state and he hopes that together the government and the entrepreneurs will give a major push to industrial growth in the state.

Mann was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit at Mohali on Thursday. The two-day summit aims at inviting investors to the state, which the Aam Aadmi Party government is presenting as the best destination to invest.

Mann had earlier visited many states and even Germany to seek investments.

Mann assured complete support and cooperation to all the industrialists for their every venture.

The chief minister expressed hope that the day is not far when the state will soon emerge as the industrial hub of the country.

According to the official statement, he thanked companies including HMEL Bathinda, ITC, Palaksha University, ESR Logistics, Hindustan Unilever, International Tractors, Tynor Orthotics, Savi Exports, Sanathan Polycot, Trident Group, Hartek Power, JK Papers and Nestle India, who participated in the event.

On the occasion, various state cabinet ministers, MLAs and senior officers of the Punjab government were also present. There were nine sectors where discussions were held and investment was seeked. These included agri-food processing, textiles, healthcare, education, tourism, information technology and startups.

Earlier this month, the AAP government had come out with a new industrial policy, promising ease of doing business, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives and also focusing on key areas like infrastructure, micro, small and medium enterprises, large enterprises and innovation.
