Punjab Is Missing From Budget: CM Bhagwant Mann

Punjab demanded Rs 1000 crore for BSF’s upgradation, modernisation, and anti-drone system, said Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Punjab CM has expressed his displeasure over the budget by saying that there is no mention of the state.

“Earlier Punjab was missing from Republic Day, now Punjab is missing from the budget. As a border state, we demanded Rs 1000 cr for BS's upgradation, modernisation, and anti-drone system, but nothing has been talked about in the budget,” he said.

The finance minister Nirmala Sitharman introduced Budget 2023 on Wednesday.

Several Industry leaders welcomed the budget by saying that this budget gives relief to the common man.

Sitharaman said that this Budget hopes to build on the foundation laid in the previous Budget, and the blueprint drawn for [email protected], which envisions a prosperous and inclusive India, where the fruits of development reach all regions and citizens, especially our youth, women, farmers, OBCs, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The Finance Minister pointed out that in these times of global challenges; the G20 Presidency gives India a unique opportunity to strengthen its role in the world economic order. With the theme of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, India is steering an ambitious, people-centric agenda to address global challenges, and to facilitate sustainable economic development, she added.
