There has been a ruckus in many cities across the country against the controversial remarks made by the suspended spokespersons of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal about Prophet Mohammad. On Friday after Namaz, there were violent demonstrations in many cities including Prayagraj in UP, Howrah in Bengal, Ranchi in Jharkhand. After this, curfew was imposed in many places and internet was shut down in some places. Here are 10 big things related to the violence that happened across the country.
¤ The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is in action mode after the violence that broke out on Friday. Police have detained 227 people from 6 cities of UP. In this 48 people have been arrested from Saharanpur, 68 from Prayagraj, 50 from Hathras, 25 from Moradabad, 08 from Firozabad and 28 from Ambedkarnagar.
¤ A big statement of the police has come out on the violence in Prayagraj, UP. Police has arrested Javed Ahmed, the mastermind of Prayagraj violence. At the same time, the daughter of Javed Ahmed, studying in JNU, Delhi, has also been exposed for a suspicious role in the violence. Police has said that NSA will be imposed on the accused of violence.
¤ After the violence, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is in action mode. He has called a high level meeting at 6.30 pm on Saturday. Senior officials of the state will attend the meeting.
¤ Two people were killed in the violence that broke out in Jharkhand's Ranchi on Friday, in which the name of one of the deceased is Kaifi and the name of the other is Mohammad Sahil. The treatment of these people was going on in RIMS. Both the people were injured during the violence, after which they were admitted here. 11 injured are being treated at RIMS Hospital in Ranchi.
¤ After the violence, Section-144 has been imposed in 12 police station areas of Ranchi city. These include Kotwali police station, Lalpur police station, Daily market police station, Doranda police station, Jaggnathpur police station, Chutia police station, Lower Bazar police station, Hindpidi police station, Bariatu police station, Sukhdev Nagar police station, Argora police station and Pandra police station.
¤ After the violence that broke out in Howrah, West Bengal on Friday, 70 people have been arrested. The administration has stopped internet service in Howrah district till June 13. At the same time, Section-144 has been imposed in many areas of Howrah.
¤ For the second consecutive day, news of violence has come to light from Howrah in West Bengal. The rioters have pelted stones at the police. Section-144 is applicable in many areas of Howrah. Even after this, the incidents of violence are not taking the name of stopping. CM Mamta Banerjee has given a big statement on Howrah violence. She tweeted that violent incidents are taking place in Howrah for the last two days. There are some political parties behind this and they want to cause riots, but these will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against all of them.
¤ BJP MP from West Bengal Saumitra Khan has given a big statement. Targeting the Mamta government, he said that violence in the state is happening at the behest of the government. He said that the situation is getting worse in the state, there is a need to bring down the army here.
¤ The police have registered an FIR in the case of protesting outside Jama Masjid in Delhi without permission. DCP Central District Shweta Chauhan said that the protesters are being identified by registering a case.
