President Droupadi Murmu To Visit West Bengal On 27-28 March

Her visit is expected to strengthen the ties between the central government and the state government

The President of India Droupadi Murmu will be visiting West Bengal from March 27 to 28, 2023.

Her visit is expected to strengthen the ties between the central government and the state government, as well as enhance cultural and historical ties between West Bengal and the rest of India.

During her visit, she will be paying homage to two of the state's most famous sons, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Rabindranath Tagore.

On March 27, the President will first visit Netaji Bhawan in Kolkata to pay respects to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. She will then proceed to Jorasanko Thakurbari, the ancestral home of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, to pay tributes to the poet. Later that evening, a civic reception will be hosted in her honor at Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.

On March 28, the President will visit Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, before attending the celebration of UCO Bank's 80th anniversary in Kolkata. Her visit will conclude with her presence at the annual convocation of Visva-Bharati, held in the town of Santiniketan.
