Paytm Rides On T20 Fever, Goes Big On IPL

Paytm, an online recharges and bill payments portal, has tied up with Pepsi for a marketing campaign “Is T20 season harr koi jeetega". A new TV ad featuring Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor will also be launched at the starting of the league to promote the consumer promotion campaign. The TVC will be actively promoted during IPL season across multiple TV channels as well as in various cinema chains.

Paytm has also announced a mega shopping festival coinciding with IPL season during which it will be giving away shopping vouchers worth up to Rs 2 lakh to lucky shoppers along with upto 200 per cent cashback on mobile recharges making it one of the biggest promo online. Further, identifying with the adulation of cricket fans for their loved teams, Paytm will also be introducing several IPL merchandise on its mobile marketplace that includes IPL teams branded t-shirts, caps etc. Lucky Paytm customers will also get a chance to chat with cricketers Gautam Gambir and Dinesh Karthik. The winner will be chosen through a lucky draw.

For Paytm–Pepsi offer, consumers will be offered free recharge of Rs 15 on their prepaid mobile recharge and postpaid mobile bills. The offer coupons will be available with all 1 litre and above Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, 7up and Slice bottles as well as Kurkure (Rs 30 plus packs, all flavours) and Lays packs (Rs 35 packs, all flavours).

Vcare had a heterogeneous environment and were not able to meet the SLA’s as they were managing their backups using Scripts and Open Source. Due to the excess amount of manual work required, they were out the productivity. Dell helped them to reduce their backup window using Dell DR4100 and NVBU and more importantly showed Dell’s capability around MySQL expertise.

Lava Launches Iris 504Q+ At Rs 13,990

LAVA International Limited, a mobile handset industry, has revealed Lava Iris 504Q+ (Priced at Rs 13990) in the Indian market. Lava Iris 504Q+ is the successor to the highly successful Iris 504Q which was launched in June last year and comes packed with latest software features and hardware components that offer a great  user experience.

Iris 504Q+ takes the gesture motion functionality, the USP of its predecessor Iris 504Q, to the next level. It offers enhanced functionality based on gesture motion and voice control. A user can now capture images just by saying “Cheese” or “Capture” from both front and rear camera using the voice command feature. The intuitive gesture motion functionality allows the users to interact with the phone with just a swipe of the hand in the air. It can be used for clicking photos, changing tracks on the music player and video player, switching between screens, tuning FM channels and browsing entertainment gallery on the smart phone.

Its 10 MP rear autofocus camera is powered by Sony Exmor RS Sensor having sensor size of 1/3.2 inch allowing enhanced lowlight performance. Sony Exmor RS Sensor has bigger pixel size of 1.4 µm ensuring enhanced image quality.  The camera comes with features like High Dynamic Range (HDR), Geo-tagging, touch focus, vertical and horizontal panorama capture and face detection. Iris 504Q+ also sports a 2MP front camera for video calling facility.

HCC Awarded Rs 300 Cr DMRC Contract
Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) Ltd, India’s leading infrastructure company, has been awarded Rs 300 crore contract by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC). This is the third contract for underground metro received by HCC since October 2012 under the phase III development of Delhi Metro aggregating to Rs 1539 crores.

The contract is for design and construction of 1.54 km long twin tunnel on Dwarka-Najafgarh metro corridor of phase III of Delhi Metro. The twin tunnels will be constructed using Shield Tunnel Boring Machine. The contract also includes construction of one of the biggest underground station namely Municipal Corporation which is 290 meters long and 30 meters in width. The station will be built at depth of 18 meters. The work will be completed in 36 months.

Arun Karambeklar, president and whole time director, HCC Ltd, said “HCC has been undertaking challenging assignments in underground metro development and repeat order from DMRC reflects our ability to execute complex assignments. Last month, HCC completed the ‘up-line tunnel’ of CC30 package well ahead of all peers working on phase III development.”
