Partha Sarthi Das To Be New Joint Secretary Of Department of Food and Public Distribution

Partha Sarathi Das has been appointed as the Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution for a tenure of five years. He is an Indian Accounts and Audit Services officer of the 1994 batch. He has served in Railways for a very long time.

Born in 1967, Das holds a B. Tech. degree. He is also a CIA and CISA by qualification. He has served as the Director-General of Audit, Northern Railway in New Delhi. He then moved to the CAG office in New Delhi as the Director General (Railway).

In the past, he has also served as the Pr. Director of Audit, Northern Railway in New Delhi. The appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by PM Narendra Modi.

He will be holding his office for a tenure of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until notified further. 

He will replace EK Majhi. Majhi was an Indian Administrative Services officer of the 1989 batch. He passed away due to Covid-19 while working as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Food and Public Distribution in Kerala. He was on a central deputation there.
