Amidst the ongoing chaos surrounding Imran Khan's arrest in the Toshakhana case, General Syed Asim Munir’s support for putting the former Pakistani PM behind bars is likely to end his political career, claims a leading Pakistani media house.

It adds, Khan has even directly accused General Munir of the ongoing police crackdown against him and Pakistan Rangers, a pair of paramilitary federal law enforcement corps.

According to analysts, there are intense ‘pro-Imran Khan’ protests across Pakistan that are likely to break down the country’s law and order.

A civil war-like situation or an emergency calling for the restoration of military rule to restore the country’s stability is likely to occur, the analysts added.

Meanwhile, the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) coalition and the military establishment are working in cooperation to apprehend Imran Khan from his Lahore residence in Zaman Park.

Some reports even claim the former PM has urged his supporters and workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party to gather outside his Lahore residence to prevent the police's attempt to arrest him.

Following Khans’ call several prominent Pakistani celebrities, lawyers, and activists extended their support, backlashing the police and expressing their indignation on social media.

Reports claim that law enforcement agencies have opposed the violent resistance from the PTI supporters outside Khan's residence.

Subsequently, the military establishment has decided to either imprison Khan or prevent him from contesting future elections.

The Pakistan Army even believes Khan has diminished their institutional reputation after the public spat between the PTI chairman and former COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and hence cannot be trusted further.
