Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with economists and sectoral specialists at NITI Aayog on Friday to talk about the state of the economy and how to speed up growth, which is predicted to fall to 7 per cent, according to reports.

The government official said that added that a number of Union ministers will also attend the conference.

On February 1, 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the 2023–24 Budget to Parliament.

In the current fiscal year ending in March 2023, the Indian economy is predicted to develop at a slower rate of 7 per cent due to weaker demand, setting the way for the nation to lose its title as the fastest-growing major economy.

In comparison to the 8.7 per cent GDP growth in 2021–22, the first official estimate, which was provided by the statistics ministry, projects a 7 per cent increase.

The forecasts are significantly lower than the government's earlier prediction of 8–8.5 per cent growth but higher than the Reserve Bank's prediction of 6.8 per cent. If the prediction is accurate, India's GDP growth will be less than the predicted 7.6 per cent growth in Saudi Arabia.
