PM Envisions Boost To Tourism Sector With Donyi Polo Airport In Arunachal Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, envisioned a boost to the tourism sector in Arunachal Pradesh with the addition of Donyi Polo airport in Itanagar.

Modi via a tweet said that the addition of new airport and flights will make more people able to visit Arunachal Pradesh with ease and experience the warm hospitality there.

 

The Donyi Polo airport of Itanagar was inaugurated by PM Modi on November 19. Being the first greenfield airport, the 690 acres area was build at a price of more than Rs 640 crore. 

The airport will serve a population of over 20 lakh people from several neighbouring districts, including Arunachal Pradesh's Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Lower Subansiri, East Kameng, Pakke Kessang, and Kamle, and Assam's Biswanath and Lakhimpur.
