PM CARES Fund Nominates Ratan Tata, Former SC Justices KT Thomas, Sudha Murthy As Trustees

The Prime Minister said that with the participation of new trustees and advisors, the functioning of PM Cares Fund will get a comprehensive view

After the meeting of the Board of Trustees of PM CARES Fund chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, new trustees were nominated in the meeting. Ratan Tata was nominated as its new trustee.

With this, Rajiv Mehrishi, former CAG, Sudha Murthy, former chairman, Infosys Foundation and Anand Shah were also nominated on the advisory board of PM CARES Fund.

PM Modi has lauded people for wholeheartedly contributing to the PM CARES Fund as he chaired a meeting where it was discussed that the initiative would help in emergency situations. There is a greater approach to respond effectively to the situation and crisis situation.

A presentation was made on various initiatives taken with the help of PM CARES Fund during the meeting of the Board of Trustees of PM CARES Fund on Tuesday, including the PM Cares for Children scheme, which is supporting 4,345 children, a release by the statement was made by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman participated in the meeting, trustee of PM Cares Fund. Newly nominated trustee of PM CARES Fund - Justice KT Thomas, former Supreme Court judge; Former Deputy Speakers Kariya Munda and Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons - also attended the meeting.

The Trustees appreciated the role played by the Fund at a crucial time for the country. The statement said that Prime Minister Modi appreciated the people of the country for wholeheartedly contributing to the PM Cares Fund.
