Over 50, 000 Students Ready For Red-Walled Journey

Over 50,000 students have taken admission till July 10, after the announcement of the third cut-off list in Delhi Univerity.

Studying within the red-walls of the premier institution of India, Delhi University, is a dream for any Delhiite student in particular and any Indian student in general. The admissions in Delhi University is under process. Over 50,000 students have taken admission till July 10, after the announcement of the third cut-off list. There are still some seats available in few North Campus colleges after the announcement of the fourth cut-off list. Here is a list of top five colleges of Delhi University according to the NIRF 2019 rankings.

Top Colleges

Miranda House

It has been ranked first with a score of 73.72. Most popular courses of the college include English (Hons.), Mathematics (Hons.), Economics (Hons.), etc.

Hindu College

Hindu College has acquired the third rank by NIRF after scoring 70.57. It is a go to college for students interested in courses like B. Com. (Hons.), Political Science (Hons.), Certificate course in French, etc.

St. Stephen’s College

It has grabbed the fifth position in NIRF 2019 rankings with a 67.55 score. The courses in Economics, Mathematics and Physics get the best placements. 

Lady Shri Ram College for Women

It has been ranked seventh by NIRF and has scored 66.71. Journalism and Psychology is the most preferred course for students to study here. 

Shri Ram College of Commerce

It has grabbed the eighth rank in NIRF 2019 rankings with a 69.94 score. The college is known for its B.Com. and M.Com. courses.

About

The University of Delhi or commonly termed as Delhi University is a central university. It is located in the capital of India. Founded in 1922 with three colleges and two faculties, it has come a long way now. At present, it has 77 affiliated colleges spread across the North and South campus. The Vice-President of India serves as its Chancellor.

Ranking

It has been ranked 13th this year by National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Ministry of Human Resource Development with a score of 57.59 out of 100. NIRF parameters for this ranking are teaching, learning and resources, research, and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and peer, employers’ and public perception.

Admission

The university admits students either through entrance exams or through direct mode, on the basis of merit. The National Testing Agency (NTA) declares the results for Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) online at nta.ac.in. All the admission related information can be gathered from the official website of DU.

Amenities

The various amenities provided by DU is Cafeteria which is located near Central Library, A co-operative store which sells daily use articles like toiletries and stationery, etc. Bus Pass Counter and Railway Reservation Counter, Post Office and Banks (SBI and ICICI) are also present in the premises.

Best Courses

DU offers 87 UG and 153 PG courses. Most popular among them is B. Com. (Hons.), Economics (Hons.), English Literature, Botany and Political Science (Hons.). Students with even 95 per cent and above, struggle to get admission in these top courses of DU.
