Oracle on Tuesday said that it was expanding partnership with NVIDIA which would see it integrate tens of thousands of NVIDIA chips to boost its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) via AI.

At the Oracle CloudWorld event in Las Vegas, Oracle and NVIDIA announced plans to bring NVIDIA’s full accelerated computing stack to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). It includes NVIDIA AI Enterprise, NVIDIA RAPIDS for Apache Spark and NVIDIA Clara for healthcare.

The revelation was made by Oracle CEO Safra Catz and NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang, as they discussed their companies’ expanding collaboration in a fireside chat.

OCI will deploy tens of thousands more NVIDIA GPUs to its cloud service, including A100 and upcoming H100 accelerators.

These two chips were included in export control list to China last month.

“I’m unbelievably excited to announce our renewed partnership and the expanded capabilities our cloud has,” said Catz to a live and online audience.

NVIDIA and Oracle have been serving enterprises together for years with accelerated computing instances and software available via OCI. With the full NVIDIA AI platforms available on OCI instances, the extended partnership is expected to accelerate AI-powered innovation for a broad range of industries.
